Google Business Profile Checklist for Local Businesses
Keep your local business details accurate and make it easier for customers to find, understand and contact you.

Check the essentials
Start with your real business name, location, phone number and website. Compare these details with your website and any other listings you maintain. Fix incorrect hours and update temporary closures when needed. Choose a business category that describes what you actually do; avoid adding unrelated terms to make the listing sound larger.
Show the real business
Use clear, current photographs of your premises, team or work where you have permission to publish them. A customer should be able to recognise the location and understand what to expect. Describe services plainly and check that the website link reaches a useful page. Do not use photographs or claims that misrepresent the business.
Make reviews part of service
Invite genuine customers to share their experience without telling them what rating to leave. Do not buy reviews or offer rewards for positive feedback. Respond politely to questions and feedback, keeping private customer information out of public replies. A useful response addresses the issue rather than repeating marketing language.
Maintain a regular check
Assign someone to review the listing whenever hours, contact details or services change. Test the directions and call links from a phone. Keep a note of customer questions that recur and improve the website answers. An accurate profile supports local discovery, but adding information does not guarantee a particular position in results.
